Ready to make a payment?

Pursuant to MCR 1.110, fines, costs and other financial obligations imposed by the court must be paid at the time of assessment (the day that the judge orders the obligation), except when the court allows otherwise, for good cause shown.

  • If you choose to pay using a credit card, an Enhanced Access Fee will be added to your payment. Total fee varies depending on the amount of payment: a minimum fee of $2.50 applies to all payments. All online payments will be reflected on the case register of actions the next business day.

CRIMINAL CASES

The Court Financial Services staff are also responsible for initiating actions to collect any unpaid court costs, attorney fees, state minimum costs, crime victim fees, penal fines and restitution.

The staff works with defendants to establish payment plans. Payment plans can be discussed only in person, by going to the Court Financial Services Office.

Pursuant to MCR 6.106(I)(3), bond money personally posted by a defendant is retained by the county and first applied to the financial assessments ordered by the judge on the case. If the financial assessments are satisfied, any surplus of the bond posted is sent back to the defendant.

SHERIFF WORK RELEASE & TETHER

Sheriff work release and tether payments are collected and disbursed to the appropriate county agency.

JUVENILE CASES

The collection of fees ordered by a family division judge may include the cost of care for court wards in out of home placement, attorney fees, probation oversight fees, state minimum costs, crime victim fees and restitution.
