Adoption Services

The Adoption Unit processes several different types of adoptions including state wards in foster care, direct placement adoption, adult, stepparent and relative adoptions. Petitions on post-adoption matters, including delayed registration of foreign birth and confidential intermediary services are also filed at this office. Adoption Unit staff are generally available on a “no appointment” basis for general information about the adoption process. Walk-in or telephone inquiries are accepted. Staff are able to provide information about the adoption process and the required forms. Please contact the Adoption Department directly for information regarding Safe Delivery of a Newborn.
